Wyndarra Renovation & Extension - high eight home & living

Wyndarra Renovation & Extension

Welcome to ‘Wyndarra’ a working farm in country Victoria (Teesdale) originally a 1960’s yellow brick home. To now a fully renovated and extended modern farmhouse.

I recently had the pleasure to go back and visit the family home to show you all the finished product and reflect on really how much has been achieved over the last couple of years. When I look back at the original photos on my first visit I think WOW did we really achieve all this…AMAZING!

My clients engaged me to help out with the design, colour selections and finishes, furniture selections and interior styling…yep the whole kit and kaboodle!!!

The concept and brief was open plan living, light and bright, functional, ample storage and homely. Mixing the old with the new and incorporating some family heirlooms and sentimental pieces.
And of course those family memories with the photo wall galleries.

The house was guttered, a major job, we were virtually building a new home. So to me there had to be something original kept other than the structure of course and guess what that was? Yep that green loo and hand basin…Love it and one of my favourite rooms in the house.
This became the powder room, the feature floor and wall tile just worked perfectly and the black tap ware giving it a modern edge.

The heart of the home and definitely one of the highlights is the open plan kitchen/family area with so many special features including that magnificent AGA cooker, shaker style cabinetry, stone bench tops, remote control skylights, feature island bench, servery window (which I must mention is in it’s original position of the home) floor to ceilingĀ  commercial sliding doors, gas log fire and timber flooring…and those views!!!

The bathroom and en-suite features floor to ceiling tiles, designer tap ware (the same gunmetal finish throughout the home) shaver mirror cabinets, wood grain cabinetry and the bath with a view!!!

The laundry/mud room that every woman of the household would envy. Built in front loader washing machine and dryer, ample storage, drying line (keeping with the farmhouse style) waterfall timber grain cabinetry, designer tap ware, feature wall panelling and those hidden away fridge and freezer ventilated cabinets…genius!!!

It was lovely to have every family member involved in this project, everyone had input.
I need to make mention my two little friends that I made Wesley and Fletcher (and Mum and Dad of course). I let the boys choose what feature wall colour, bed linen and wall art they would like for their bedrooms. They love their rooms, they are personal spaces that reflect their own personalities and enjoy spending time in.

There were some painted up cycle projects that we included in the decor that had sentimental value or basically just needed a re vamp like the kitchen dining table, pianola, entry console table, bedroom furniture and laundry/powder room oval mirrors (with Fusion Mineral Paint that of course you can purchase from us)

Some other special features that were included were the custom made Australian Tallow timber entry and laundry barn door.
Made by the very talented Chas from Williams and Campion who sadly passed away last year. We are going to miss him and his talent. We involved him on many of our previous projects …how special to have one of his last projects in this home.

The outside area as any new build are a working progress. To date the in ground pool is in and outdoor undercover deck area complete. The landscaping is underway.

All in all you would have to agree that this is an amazing transformation!!!
This family love and take pride in their new home which makes me feel very humbled and proud of.
